Note!
• SC followed by O/A has a hard sound as in skate.
• SC followed by I/ E has a soft sound as in fisher.

Ex.:
bosco • tasca
sciare • scendere

L’IMPERATIVO: ORDINARE E PROIBIRE
The imperative is generally used to give commands.
Only two forms of the imperative are used: the second person singular (tu) and the second person plural (voi).

parl–a tac–i dorm–i
parl–ate tac–ete dorm–ite

The imperative of auxiliary verbs is:
ESSERE
si–i
si–ate

AVERE
abb–i
abb–iate

When general instructions are given the infinitive form may be used.

Ex.: Lavare con cura. / Agitare prima dell’uso.

The imperative in the negative form is :
non + infinito ➔ for the second person singular non parlare.
non + imperativo ➔ for the second person plural non parlate.
Note! The imperative is generally followed by an exclamation mark (!).
